BOLUS: VFC WANTS TO BE THE BEST

Ahead of this afternoon's NNL fixture against Rovers of Calabar, our Head Coach Tony Bolus says Vandrezzer FC is aiming to be the best football club in the country.

VFC have taken 9 points from a possible 18, with a historic 3-2 victory in Enugu against Giant Brillars. We have also won three of the last four matches.

Speaking to VFC TV, Bolus says the team is working hard be the best.

“It is a work in progress, we are still working. We have not really gotten to where we want to be but we believe before the end of the season, the results will keep coming and we will get there.

“If you want to be the best, you must work more than the best. Vandrezzer FC wants to be the best, so, we are really striving to make sure we work very well, we want to have our own kind of game, we want to have a game you can identify with VFC, we want to play at the top level, with speed, we want to score goals and entertain our fans, a lot of work to be done.”

VFC lost 1-0 to Rovers FC in Calabar in the reverse fixture and Bolus says he has taken notice of how they approached the game and will be ready to pick the required three points.

"VFC is a side that keeps all details, I may not have been there but I watched the video, I’ve seen them play and I know everything about the team. It makes it a lot easier to play them here. We want to take one game at a time, we don’t want to pile things on us, we want to take each game as it comes, get this three points, we will talk of Nnewi, Nilayo till our last game.

“Three points at this particular time is very important to us, getting that three points will give us a lot of hope.

“Anybody that is coming to Agege will experience what we do to people there. We are going to keep the ball, keep possession, we want to win everything, we want to win the game, score interesting goals.

“We have a very young squad, the boys are very young, time for recoveries is around 24 hours which is enough for them to recover.

“We want to win the remaining matches, we want to set a standard, whether home or away, we do not care, we want to go there and play football, we want to get that three points, score goals and entertain the fans. We want everybody to believe in what we are doing."
