A second batch of VFC players have successfully undergone the mandatory COVID-19 tests, ahead of return to camp.
Last week, seven players conducted their tests in Uyo and Abuja. Effiong Lawrence, Ekerete Udom, Bassey Lawrence, Godwin Ekpo, Uko Anietie, Pederson Ajong were tested at the Infectious Disease Centre Ituk Mbang, Uruan LGA, Akwa Ibom State, while Nelson Michael was tested at the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital. All players tested NEGATIVE.
This week, between Monday November 2 and Wednesday November 4, 2020, nine players have done the mandatory test in different parts of the country. Eight of these test results have been received and confirmed NEGATIVE. We expect to have the last result by Saturday 7th November, 2020.
The test results of Kolawole Daniel and David Mark who were both tested at At Sobi Specialist Hospital in Ilorin, Kwara State were received by the club on Wednesday. Both results were NEGATIVE.
While Damilare Babatunde's result came out NEGATIVE, we await the result of Suleiman Jamiu's who was tested at the same centre - Medbury, Ikeja - Lagos.
Okekem Anderson and
Akakem Onyekachi's tests results facilitated by NOBSAMS Hospital was received this evening and are also NEGATIVE.
And for Lolo Christopher, his test result from Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital Kaduna returned NEGATIVE
Aberico da Silva and striker Ivo Júnior who both arrived the country last night, will undergo a second test after a week's isolation. Both players had submitted NEGATIVE results upon boarding the flight to Nigeria, but according to guidelines, they'll have to undergo another test.
We await the last result (Suliaman Jamiu) by tomorrow, in time for a planned resumption of camping ahead of the new season.
