The Afaha Offiong mini stadium came alive today as Vandrezzer FC recorded a 1- 0 own goal win over visiting Cynosure FC , the second win in their one week friendly series.

A 37th minute interception by Assitant Captain of Cynosure FC Chidi Martins went the wrong way as instead of achieving a clearance away from goal, his effort went straight into the net.

Goalkeeper Chukwudi had relied on Chidi for defence rather the reverse was the case.

Cameroonian Pederson Ajong created a fine run of exchanging passes with teammate Sampson Hussaini, which resulted in a final touch for the former who took his shot from the edge of the box resulting in the interception by Chidi which led the goal.

Rafael Everton missed the services of three main players; Alberico Da Silva, Anietie Uko and Ofonime Afangide bringing in Hussaini,Evra and Onoja as replacements.

A total overhaul of the starters were made in the second half as 11 players came on for 11 players.

Kolawole Daniel came on for Sampson Hussaini. Nine minutes on, GK Anderson Akakem, Gerald Akakem, Roland Mfon, Daniel Ekpo, Jamil Suleiman, Joseph Bassey, Michael Nelson, Damilare Babatunde, Samuel Edoho and Odoh Valentine all came on for the starters.

The very best of chances in the second half for the Lions’ was created by Kolawole Daniel six minutes from regulation time after a fine run of play from the side. The end result was a long shot at goal, narrowly missing the target.

Rafael Everton was however pleased with his boys and is 100 percent sure that delivery will be smooth when the league resumes on a yet to be announced date.
