The Nigeria National League has adjusted the date for the Week 16 fixture between Ibom Youth and Vandrezzer FC earlier scheduled for Sunday, June 5, 2022.

The game which would mark Vandrezzer FC’s first ever return to their ancestral home (Ikot Ekpene Stadium), has now been moved forward to Saturday, June 4, 2022, due to “a typographical error” on the part of the league body.

“League matches in the South-South and South-East zones of the country have since been scheduled for Saturdays, to enable visiting teams return to their abodes latest Sunday, due to the sit-at- home situation in some of these areas” said NNL CEO Emmanuel Adesanya.

“Ascribing Sunday to the match was a typographical error on our part, and it was only recently brought to our notice following the wide publicity the game has recently received thanks to Vandrezzer FC” he added.

Saturday’s game will be the second ever competitive fixture between the former neighbours; the first ending in a 1-1 draw on March 25, 2022 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.

VFC and Ibom Youths are 3rd and 4th respectively in Group B1 of the NNL Southern Conference, with the Lions having three points above their hosts, going into the encounter.
