The Lions’ two friendlies at the Umuahia Township Stadium in Abia state saw the team lose to Abia Comets by a lone goal yesterday.
The second friendly this morning ended goalless against NPFL side Abia Warriors.
While the team used the games to fine-tune and keep fit pending the resumption of the NNL, two players picked up knocks in the process.
One of such players is new signing and winger Samuel Edoho who picked up a hard knock in the game against Abia Comets leading to a thigh injury.
Also, defensive midfielder Benjamin Victor whose ankle injury was detected after the Abia Comets game as well.
According to the team’s physiotherapist,Edoho only needs a few days to recuperate while Benjamin Victor will be out for 1-2 weeks to get back to full fitness.
Coach Rafael Everton expects both players to fully recover in time for the league resumption but also reiterates thus:
“The injuries are minor and I expect them back as soon as possible but there are good replacements in the team in the absence of these two”
The team arrived Uyo at about 2pm this afternoon from Umuahia after playing a goalless draw with Abia Warriors this morning.
