LIONS MOVE TO STOP THE FORCE OF DELTA TODAY

Vandrezzer FC will be guest to Delta Force as the 2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) campaign kicks off this weekend.

The match, holding at the JJ Okocha Stadium, will mark the ever first meeting between the two sides, although both coaches aren't strangers, having worked together at NPFL side Abia Warriors some seasons ago.

In the 2017/18 season, Rafael Everton was Technical Adviser of the Warriors which Austin Chiwendu was Chief Scouting Officer.

Team News

Coach Rafael Everton has an abundance of riches at his disposal, having signed a couple of top players in the transfer window.

New recruits Ivo Junior and Segun Alabi are two of the star names in the squad with experienced players like Christopher Lolo and Alberico Silva also included.

Coach Everton has two goalkeepers on the trip - Alabi and Edwin Nwakamma, with either of them worthy of a start today.

Defender Onyekachi Akakem did not make the trip as he nurses an injury, while attacker Michael Ipaye has also been excluded.

Form

VFC are going into the game in top form, having been unbeaten during their pre-season campaign in Lagos.

The Lions of Naija beat Team Lagos (2-1), Remo Stars (1-0), and Joy Cometh (2-1), with their only draw coming against NPFL campaigners MFM FC (0-0).

During those games, VFC scored 5 goals and kept two clean sheets - conceded just twice.

Broadcast

Fans won't be allowed into the stadium for the game but can follow the broadcast on VFCTV via the VFC mobile app which is available on Play Store and iOS.
