Vandrezzer FC Head Coach Henry Makinwa has charged his players to do more after their 2-0 win against fellow Nigeria National League (NNL) side Rovers FC on Wednesday.

Saviour Isaac and Somtochukwu Abraham scored either side of halftime to hand the Lagos State FA Cup champions a well-deserved 2-0 win against Rovers at Ibiono in a pre-season friendly encounter dominated by VFC.

Reacting to the win, Makinwa decried some of the wasted chances by his team.

"It was a fantastic game from the two teams," said the 44-year-old tactician who fielded different squads for both halves. "Team A profited well from what we have been working on in training, that's collective play mixed with lots of individual play.

"The Team A did exactly what we had worked on in training, but the Team B did not play according to my expectation, maybe, because of anxiety. They saw what the Team A played and they tried to repeat that.”

"So, but 2-0 (win against Rovers), is not bad. We lost about four chances which we have to concentrate on and work on" added Makinwa.

The UEFA-pro licensed coach will be hoping the Lions of Naija improve on their goal scoring when they tackle another NNL outfit Abia Comets in a friendly tie on Saturday at VFC training ground Ibiono LGA, Akwa Ibom State.
