PREVIEW: VANDREZZER FC VS GIANT BRILLARS

The Lions are back in action after almost a month off, as they host familiar opponents Giant Brillars on Friday, May 13, 2022, behind the closed doors of the Teslim Balogun Stadium, from 16:00 GMT.

The game is the reverse fixture of both sides’ final matches of the NNL first round played at the UNEC Stadium Enugu on April 16, 2022.

FORM GUIDE

VFC have picked up five points from their last five matches, which also involved the first leg of this fixture against Giant Brillars last month.

The Lions are unbeaten in this fixture, picking up 7 points from the last three meetings which include a memorable 3-2 victory in Enugu last year.

Meanwhile, Giant Brillars have lost three of their last five matches, winning one and settling for a draw against against Lions.

They have a terrible record on the road this season, losing all of their five matches away from home and conceding 10 times.

However, Brillars are leveled on points (14) with Vandrezzer FC but seats a place below the Lions on goal difference.

HEAD TO HEAD

The Champions of Lagos beat Giant Brillars over two legs in the 2020/21 season, their first and second ever meetings, with both meetings producing 10 goals in total.

Lekan Abdulsalam’s 80th minute equalizer ensured VFC maintain their unbeaten run against today’s opponent in the first leg of this fixture in April.
