*About Lagos FA Cup 2020/21*

The 2020/21 Lagos FA Cup was put on hold last year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and rescheduled for this year. Eighty Four teams entered the contest, but thirty two are left, including Vandrezzer FC.

The competition is in a knockout format which means there has to be a winner in a given fixture to qualify into the next round.

*Vandrezzer FC*

It's 104 days since VFC were in action against Delta Force on August 22, 2021 in the Nigeria National League fixture. Since, then, the Lions of Naija have been on break until about a two weeks  ago, and will look forward to making a winning start on their debut appearance in the FA Cup.

Coach Tony Bolus will return in the Lions’ dugout and a win will see us progress to the round of 16 and closer to the goal of winning the trophy.

*The Opponent*

We face an unfamiliar opponent in Jo Sportyne FC who have played in the previous two rounds of the competition. Their first match was against Jimmy FA FC, Jo Sportyne progressing 6-5 on penalties after the match ended without a goal.

They beat Divine Praise FC 2-0 to qualify for this round.

*Team News*

Coach Tony Bolus has a very new team to choose from, with old boys Oloye Felix, Saheed Obisesan, goalkeeper Paul Emenike, Samuel Edoho, Kingsley Akpan and Saviour Isaac on the squad list some of the old boys back to the squad.

Captain Godwin Ekpo misses this match, although he is in his last stage of rehabilitation following his hand surgery in July.

Due to some technical constraints, the match will not be broadcast on VFCTV. You can however follow our various social media platforms for updates.
