SOMTOCHUKWU IS OUR DECEMBER PLAYER OF THE MONTH

Somtochukwu Abraham has picked up his first Player of the Month award as a Vandrezzer FC player.
Fresh from his scintillating form during the 2021 Lagos FA Cup triumph, our forward was rewarded with more than 36 percent of the votes cast.
Somto was impressive in December, scoring against Messiah FC and Smart City FC and also assisting twice to round up the month.
He edged out Saviour Isaac who finished in second place with 34 percent, Olalekan Abdulsalam was third with 22 percent and Kabiru Popoola in fourth with 8 percent of the votes.
Speaking to VFCTV fresh from winning the Player of the Month, Somto expressed excitement at picking up the accolade:
“I feel very elated and grateful to God. I dedicate this award to the fans, my amazing teammates and management of this great club. December 2021 was a great month for all of us.”
While his effort has seen him scoop the December Player of the Month, the forward says the FA Cup triumph will give the team a massive push to win our Nigeria National League (NNL) group.
“It was a massive push, at first, it felt like a very big challenge but the family was there. I call this group a family more than a team, they are always there to give you option to make sure you feel very comfortable. When the games came, it was quite easy, it became more of a training than an actual tournament.
“Right now, we are looking forward to better our effort in the league, with the squad, team and the way we are going, it won’t be a surprise if we win the league.”
On his personal target for the forthcoming NNL season.
“Honestly, everything being equal, I think I can get a goal in every game. If everything goes well, I think we can win the group and get a spot to play in the top division and God being so faithful and kind, we are winning a trophy this season.
Somto is with the rest of the VFC squad currently training in Uyo, ahead of the proposed 2021/22 season commencement in February.
