We are glad to announce the arrival of South African Sports Scientist, Ashley De Beer to Vandrezzer FC.

Ashley is a fitness expert and will work with the VFC first team as a strengthening and conditioning coach in our Sports Science department, under the supervision of Chris Barnes, our lead Sports Scientist.

Ashley holds a Master of Science degree in Human Kinetics and Economics at the Rhodes University, South Africa and also a Bachelor of Science honours in Human Kinetics and Ergonomics and Geography.

He joins us after leaving the Sport, Exercise Medicine and Lifestyle Institute (SEMLI) at the University of Pretoria, where he provided sport science services for the South African Football Association (SAFA) Women's Youth Academy and TuksHockey Men and Women's first teams.

He started his career as a Strengthening and Conditioning Coach at the Sakhukutsha Youth Academy, South Africa, in 2016. He also served as a Sports Scientist and Head of Youth Development at Bellville City F.C and an assistant to the club’s first team which he implemented a long term talent development programme for youth players.

Ashley also served as Sport Science Intern at South African Premier Soccer League side, Cape Town City F.C in 2019. He was responsible for long term periodisation, GPS & load monitoring, and S&C sessions for the Reserve and Youth teams.

His wealth of experience in creating and implementing long term youth development structures, as well as providing a high quality sport science approach for clubs and athletes will be beneficial to us.

Everyone at VFC is happy to welcome Ashley, who arrives Nigeria this week to resume duties with the club.
