In a bid to cushion the effect and economic difficulties caused by the spread of the COVID-19, the Management of Vandrezzer Football Club has as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility and charitable givings for 2020, identified and donated cash palliatives to some sports bodies and communities in Nigeria. Members of these bodies who benefitted from the palliative include ex-Nigeria football players, sports journalists, and a State Football body.
Vandrezzer FC through the Trustees of Vandrezzer FC foundation approved the sum of Two Million Five hundred thousand Naira as a palliative to be shared among five different sport communities at Five hundred thousand Naira each, to help cushion the economic difficulty caused by the restrictions put in place due to coronavirus pandemic.
The Beneficiaries include:
1. AKWA IBOM FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
2. SPORTS WRITERS ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIA (SWAN) Akwa-Ibom Chapter
3. T&T NETWORK (a forum of ex-internationals)
4. NSM REBRANDED (forum of journalists & administrators)
5. FRIENDS UNITED BY FOOTBALL (football supporters & stakeholders)
Recall that at the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Management of Vandrezzer Football Club also saw it necessary to promptly intervene and support the Government of Akwa Ibom (VFC's host state) and Lagos State (major entry point into the country) in their fight against the dreaded Covid-19, by donating cartons of hand sanitizers and other protective equipment needed by frontline workers in the fight against the virus.
This intervention to curtail the spread of the virus was also extended to schools, hospitals, and orphanages in some local government areas in Akwa Ibom State.
We salute the Federal and state governments, all the front-line caregivers, and entire medical personnel for their feat.
We also commiserate with families who lost their loved ones in this fight.
Let's remember to observe all protocols and stay safe.
