Members of the VFC technical team have excitement at the recent call up of one of our midfielders, Anas Hassan to the National Under 20 men’s national football team, the Flying Eagles.

An excited head coach Henry Makinwa says Anas, who has been a regular this season, is great player whose statistics and capabilities speak for him.

“A versatile midfielder physically, high level on the GPS numbers.

Strong, fast, good positional play with intelligence, top speed of reaction and great passes.

Also speaking about the midfielder’s capabilities, our Sports Science Director Chris Barnes was full of praises for the lad:

“Anas is consistently higher in training and match outputs than his team mates. He displays good fitness levels (locomotive data - distance/min and sprint distance/min), and also good on-field strength (good acceleration/min and deceleration/min). I would confidently forecast that Anas will cope comfortably with the physical demands of the National training camp.”

Admitting Anas will be missed in the squad, coach Makinwa however believes while the workaholic player does his bit in the national team, there are capable replacements here to fill in till he returns.

“Anas is a rare talent fit for a central Europeans football, Ligue 1 precisely. We would certainly miss him while he is away on national assignment, but we have capable replacements to stand in. For now, the whole of Vandrezzer FC proud of this achievement.”
