VFC DEVELOPMENT SQUAD (U-23) STAGE COMEBACK WIN IN NLO DAY 5

Three superb goals from Etido Dan, Solomon  Gabriel and Attah Idongesit ensured a comeback win for VFC Development Squad (U23) over Koluoma FC, in the Nationwide League One on Wednesday.

The Week 5 game came alive as early as the 4th minute when their opponents from Bayelsa State got ahead via a strike from Handsome Surveyor. Pressure was further compounded six minutes later as Ofuru Benjiman finished nicely in the 12th minute from ten yards.

After series of efforts, the Junior Lions eventually got back into the game with a 37th minute goal by captain Etido Dan, a precise  rebound past goalkeeper Bayelsa Stanley, after earlier hitting the upright.

The 2nd half was all for VFC DS as they made repeated incursions until the Koluoma defence opened up in 69th minute, leaving Idongesit Attah to fire successfully from range and increase his goal tally in the competition to four.

The game was sealed in the 84th minute when Solomon Gabriel Akpan beat three defenders to score.

The win takes VFC DS to 4th on the log (Port Harcourt zone) with seven points from four games, and they next face Ojinmah FC on Thursday March 18, by 10:00 GMT+1 Hrs.

The game will also be broadcast on VFC TV, via the Vandrezzer FC mobile application.
