Vandrezzer FC is pleased to announce the re-engagement of Yemi Olanrewaju as the club’s first assistant coach, for a duration of two years.

The professional footballer turned coach first joined the club in the latter part of the 2020/21 season on a short term contract, as assistant coach.

Olanrewaju who formerly worked as chief coach in Gwarinpa Stars, Magnate FC, and asst. coach in NPFL side MFM FC before joining VFC, was very supportive during his first spell with our team, which saw us win our first ever silverware last month. The CAF and Scottish UEFA C License coach will work closely with the team’s new head coach Henry Makinwa.

Yema, as he is fondly called, featured as

a defensive midfielder during his playing days with Kwara United, Ocean Boys, Crown FC, all in the Nigerian top flight, and later Firatspor of Turkey in the 2014/15 season, where he ended his five year professional playing career due to injury.

“This is a club that has been after my heart since their inception, I am certainly delighted to see this dream come through. I can say for a fact that Vandrezzer FC is the most professional clubside in Nigeria and I am happy to be part of it” said the Business Management graduate.

“With the caliber of personnel in the technical crew, I’m positive that I can learn a lot, grow, and we can achieve a lot with our squad. Thanks a lot to the management for the faith in me” he added.

According to club’s Chief Operating Officer: “The VFC management is happy to have Olanrewaju sign with us for the next two years. He has shown the qualities we desire to help groom a winning squad. He is an ambitious lad with modest experience, and his ability to key into our structure is very commendable”.

Everyone at Vandrezzer Football Club is happy to have ‘Yema’ stay on with us.
